Daily Special by Christine Alwin & Felix Perry
When the still of night unfolds,
Marshmallows sway in hot chocolate,
She recycles thoughts of today,
Behind lids shut, it is he...she holds
Garbage truck noise, city sirens blare,
Sunshine shakes the cold world awake,
Coffee beans ground, banish night fears,
He sees in the mirror, her reflection there
Lunch is served on the terrace,
Through tea’s steam, he appears,
Lips plump, sips a taste of him,
Swallowing sweetness, of honey’s caress
Sun says goodbye to the last of the day,
Clock stretched minutes, one by one,
Supper alone, lacks the spice of her,
His hungry heart yearns, love’s ecstasy

This collaboration goes by too fast.
Just as the days their past.
I always want more
Were there any crumpet crumbs left on the floor?
Great Picture.
Captures the whole essence of the poem.

The mirror effect except that both were seeing the other. Creative and well written. These poems we write such as this, Christine, can be made into a three-hundred-and-fifty page novel. and has been. I wrote my first novel, "My Mother's Revenge," from one line in a Merle Haggard song, "I'm the only one who's ever loved you." Nice work.
