When I first joined this site, I did so on an expirimental basis and only had the 14 free pages. So, I began to put several poems on the same page. Several fellow writers suggested that I separate them, so this poem is being removed from an earlier page and given it's own special place.

I CAN HEAR HER MUSIC

The first thing every morning,
she’s the first thought in my head.
I’m thinking of things I’ll write to her
even before I get out of bed.

Then, as the day progress’s,
seems the whole day long,
her image comes to mind
with every other song.

It might be a Country Classic,
or any common country tune,
but I can hear her music
from every single room.

It’s the same thing every evening,
as I sit and watch TV.
I’m just waiting for the time
when she’ll be sitting next to me.

I’m sure it wouldn’t be that hard
to see each other more.
But, if we lived in the same zip code
we’d be constantly at each other’s door.

Now, we email each other often,
or send an instant message.
Sometimes just a line or two,
sometimes we fill the page.

Usually every evening,
some time shortly after eight,
she’ll buzz me on instant message,
and we’ll sit & conversate.

Oh, I know that’s not a word,
but it’s the best that I could do.
We ratchet jaw about everything
so it’s the closest I could choose.

We’ll both be watching something
then on comes a commercial.
So, we’ll send each other a message,
sort of our personal infomercial.

We’ll both get a real good laugh,
or maybe just a giggle,
then go back to the show,
when one of us gives the signal.

Back and forth we’ll go,
just talking silly stuff,
though it’s generally not important,
seems we never get enough.

The point I’m trying to make,
is with so much time on the internet,
we probably get in lots more words,
than most other couples get.

What we say is not important,
only that we converse
and I still hear her music,
as I work on my next verse.
