I don't believe in coincidences,
Only in irony
And sometimes, fate,
So it comes
As no surprise
That during this season
Of rebirth
I am being
Not-so-gently shoved
Into making changes
Long overdue
If I want to live
A healthy
And whole life.
Years of self-abuse
And neglect
Have caught up with me
In the form of
Diabetes,
And now the time has come
To pay the piper.
How much do I value
My feet?
My legs?
My very life?
Are they worth
The fleeting
And questionable satisfaction
Of chocolate
Or fast food?
Such food has long been
My closest friend,
But now I see
How close it is
To killing me.

How much do I value my feet? My legs? My very life? Eye opening call for change - very well penned, Rebecca.

If you can maintain the level under 5.7 you don't need to worry, if it is higher there are blocking tablets that will help to hold in check those levels. But, there's again...a radical food diet is needed to help the body to start producing its own defense chemicals.
