Someone once said, that your heart is a door,
People walk in, people walk out.
Why, then, do my doors work so poor?
My own insecurities, no doubt?
Someone once told me, that people do leave.
People walk out those doors, never to come back.
Why, then, over these people do I grieve?
Confidence, do I lack?
Confidence to say that is isn't always my fault,
That I am not the one who drives them away,
That I was the victim of an assault.
Then, why, didn't you, COULDN'T you, stay?
Someone once told me, that men are afraid.
Afraid that they might just start to love the person you are.
That they might get betrayed,
That they might fall in love. (nah, too bizarre)
They might fall in love, and get hurt,
So they'd rather cause the pain;
They'd rather'd be inert.
Rather, from a relationship refrain.
Someone once told me, that girls are frightened.
Not willing to take the risk;
Petrified that in heart-breaks, they might be enlightened.
Afraid the relationship will take up a romance too brisk.
Afraid that the relationship was fake,
Leading to heart-break.
To the guy, it being "no big deal."
That certain someone once told me, no doubt,
They told me TWICE, that your heart is a door;
People walk in, and people walk out.
Then you don't see them anymore.
You don't see them anymore,
Which is my fear.
That is why I have that broken door;
Always I need my friends near.
Always I need my friends near,
For guidance and support,
For when I am sad,and need a cheer,
So that my problems I do not distort.
Someone once told me, that life is a journey; live it.
Pack your bags and see the sights.
Don't be afraid to commit,
Though happiness, sadness, and frights....
Through all of these things, comes happy times.
Broken doors can be mended;
Those who desert will pay for their crimes.
You will survive; wounds can be tended.
Someone once told me, that when you tell all you have to say,
Tell your audience "hi" instead of "goodbye", for goodbye is too long.
*CRACK!!!* there goes that writers block, gone for a bit anyhoo...

|Yes your heart is like a door but only one door knob and it's on your side. If you are super careful who you let in it will not hurt so much when they leave because the real ones won't leave.|

|U spew from your mouth the very essence I see of love & speak of, a rarity. Interesting!!! Also, both parties are afraid of the roles of commitment & down the line, we come through that revolving door 2 love's path.|

|Excellent, Kari. Life is about taking risks. People come and people go, but those who are true to you will stick around through happiness and sadness.|

|Kari, I love all of your poems, and love you as a person. You are awesome, and I hope you find a guy that deserves your beauty and smarts, unlike your past guy-crushes, who nowhere NEAR deserved you.
-your friend (maybe more?)
