Print Save Become a Fan
Ticking like a springbok through the bush, I run.
Feeding, feeling, pumping, watching the Kalahari inside spread out, full of horizons, tilting, whirling, as coin by coin the rush fills me, fascinates me, animates me.
Animal speed, thick plastic blood to keep me warm, safe from the ionic freeze, pushing past shifting landforms, frozen in a cobalt blur.
A chink in the giant turtle’s armor, ricocheting up through infinity until you can see it rising up beneath your sweaty feet.
A microscopic deflection, and a whole new world appears, changing as it forms, developing a known order within itself.
Millennial pursuits, chasing tail down and in, between and out, into the warps and weaves that cross through self, detaching me from myself, attaching me to my world.
Intangible cravings, to touch and drink of the electrolotus flower, young mammalian urges developing, squirming, unable to be quelled.
It is The Drive.
Into a crease, a recessing finite darkness, a crevice of cold lava and fiery granite, furious stainless steel, airbrushed slickness propelling the impression outward to the tip of my fingers and wings and fins and things.
Scared and intent, every nerve focused on existence, end to end, back around, pseudo-physical longings tangled in between a one and a zero.
Bleeding down the trails, marking my invisible territories.
Blood flowing through the trees, the flaking dust of leaves, the chrome-edged wind sweeping past in a rush of glaring soundless motion, with your ears stretching back through time to catch the gut-scream beginning, empowering your outer self to break free, to break loose from common gravities, letting you spin toward internity.
In cycles the leopard spies you, scares you, and skins you.
Moment by moment, digit by digit, until you can taste his white-flash tongue across your back, with the tingling arc binding you to him, into him, on, off, jumping back and forth across the miniscule chasms of concentration.
Feeling every byte he takes of you, from out of you, making you into him, swishing you around inside him, making you like the whole, making you into one.
