Mama..do you have any idea how much
I've missed you thru the years?
Time hasn't taken away the memories
are the tears.
I can see you sitting before me a
cup of coffee in your hand ~
Or standing in the kitchen rattling
your pots and pans.
I wish you were here Mama...
I need you so much...
There's nothing quite like a Mama's
tender touch.
Some times I need you to listen...
Mama, you were always there~
To hold me when I cried ~
to let me know you cared.
The years go flying by just as
fast as they can ~
I try to be strong Mama..I try
to understand.
When I have problems and they
take over my heart ~
I want to talk to you Mama ~
it's hard to be apart!
God took you home to be with Him
so many years ago~
The many tears I've cried for you
no one will ever know.
Rest in God's loving arms .. you
worked hard here on Earth ~
Mama , I took you for granted ~ now
I know how much you're worth!!!

For those of you who didn't read my poem...In Memory of Kitty Ann Spence...My Mama..... She was killed by a hit-run driver when she was only 39 years young. She was crossing the road one rainy Oct. night and didn't see the car coming. It's a day I will never forget. She left eight children and a husband behind. So tragic. The man who hit her was later found...but he was a known alcoholic. He was probably drinking at the time. I stand united with my fight against drunk drivers because I know first hand the pain involved. Thank all of you for reading this....sometimes I just want to sit beside her at her old kitchen table and drink coffee and just talk to her for hours.......sadly......that can't happen now.
