...a Haibun form of poetry

We Should Not Forget

On special days throughout the years we are reminded...
to not forget our many men and women of the Armed Forces
who have given up their families, homes, and friends
to protect our freedoms of keeping families, homes, and friends
free in our land where we take our safety and freedom for granted.
Let us not have the need for reminders, but keep these special
men and woman, past and present, alive in our hearts and memories.
With each flap of our banner, our flag, our stars and stripes,
let us remember the many breaths taken to make it furl with glory;
let us remember the families who have lost their loved ones so that
we were able to keep ours around us in safety and freedom;
let us remember to celebrate all the lives who gave so much...
for us.

In our every day
remember our Armed Forces
with our every breath

As we celebrate this Memorial Day, let us celebrate with appreciation
that continues throughout each day of every year, and with thankfulness
for what we have: Our lives and freedom at the cost of Those Who
Have Served.

Micke,a robust thank you and recognition for the valor and call to duty so many have given our nation. We too are duty bound, to never forget their acts. May peace and love be always with you my friend. Jon Michael

Jackie,

I very nearly missed this one. So glad I didn't. What a powerful, powerful rememberance in verse. Thank you. Saving this one -- I will never forget.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

To remember is to not forget, every time we remember them we are adding another flower to their memory.
