Before I knew It
I’m sorry, I just caught myself. It’s not polite to stare-
But I was lost in dreamland when I saw you standing there.
You don’t expect a miracle on any given day,
But that is what I found when I just saw your face today.
We’re most alive when dying; you might say that I was gone.
A precious feeling kissed me like a new born baby fawn-
The first light fall of Springtime, and it left me warm and dry-
Except for one small tear drop that was slipping from my eye.
There’s just no way to hide when something’s happening like this,
A tender smile that’s blooming with a dream I want to kiss,
I’m caught just like a deer inside the headlights in the night,
Before I knew it, frozen in the magic of your sight.
I hope that you can find it in your heart to pardon me,
For standing here and melting in the vision that I see.
I guess I’m just a dreamer, but that’s really not so bad-
Before I knew it, you’ve become the best I’ve ever had.
