He seems to be running on empty.

Hole in His Soul

Up on the wagon

He talked long and loud

Silver liquid in a bottle

Crowd gathered round

Listening to his schpeel.

Standing on the promises of

This savior will bring health

And wealth too.

Off to the side she stood

Away. Mind centered

Heart and soul ready

His eyes roaming the crowd

For a convert.

He moves in a mysterious way

This savior bringing cures

To a sick world.

Seeing her, his strong voice

Faltered, quickly looked away

She was not one he trifled with

Fire in her eyes always

Made him come clean.

Have thine own way

This savior needs healing

His soul has a hole.

Late and last customer gone

She stands grounded to the earth

Offers her hand and

He trembles and turns away

Gold coins jingle falling out the hole in his soul.

Softly and tenderly she

Keeps inviting him

She’ll startle him in the next town.

A one-man minstrel show traveling in-the-God-rut road, or is that wrought-gut he is selling, cactus-elixir-bogus-religion? And they say prostitution is the oldest profession in the world. I think not! Maybe she'll plug the hole in his soul with kisses sweeter than wine that'll keep him straight and on the righteous path?

This is awesome Dayvid as the story line can
go either way in perceptions
...she may be love
but she may also be his irresistible sin...
