“If you go off into a far, far forest,

And get very, very quiet,

You will come to understand,

That you're connected with everything.”

Alan Watts

Music: Nightfall

The forest, at sunset

A place, I love to be

The forest, at sunset

Brings serenity, to me

Standing outside the log cabin

Observing the sunset, over trees

Silence, now envelops the forest

With it, comes a cool night breeze

The forest birds, sing a lullaby

Forest creatures, now pause, too

Another day in paradise, is ending

Last remnants of light, an orange hue

I now fondly recall this day’s events

An early morning walk, with my dogs

An afternoon, spent on a forest hillside

Pleasantly watching a bear cub, on a log

An evening spent in my little fishing boat

Catching dinner, and listening to the loons

Now it’s time to stoke up a soothing campfire

And dream of tomorrow’s dawn, arriving soon

The great forest, at sunset,

A place, I truly love to be;

The great forest, at sunset,

Brings such serenity, to me.

... you're in the right place, Dad... stay there just as long as you can! Beautifully felt and rendered for us to share in, thank you. I feel equally blessed here on my tranquil Dorset heath by the sea... I step outside my own front door often at night, just to feel the sort of oneness you depict for us here, though it can't be anything like as pronounced as that of your beautiful forest. Give us the co-ordinates and we'll all be right along to soak up the feel-good with you! ENJOY!!!!!!!! :)) xx

Very hauntingly beautiful, Ed. Sometimes there is something or someplace where the peacefulness of the time or place or scene, or all three hits our sensibilities and all we can do is sit or stand or lay and allow the beauty to cover us.

Ed, this is so beautiful. Had a similar feeling yesterday when my family and I went for a walk in the country....just to be still and do nothing but listen...makes you aware of how much "clutter" there often is in our lives! Enjoyed this.
