'Nuff said......

Beaches barren and empty,
Forests dark and still,
Nothing stirs upon the land,
And nothing ever will!
Air thick and acrid,
Soil toxic and dry,
No clean water anymore,
And none to question “why”?
There are no Polar Ice Caps,
Now the oceans rule,
But nothing lives within them,
For they’re infected with fuel!
They thought it would last forever,
Progress was their excuse,
Now they’re extinct and good riddance,
Payback for the abuse!
The green planet will revive itself,
Although it’s in for a fight!
And life will once again flourish,
Without the human blight!

Yep that's how I see it. Ma Nature doesn't need us but we sure need her. Patrick

Human Blight - so very sad that our species is the only one on the entire planet that does not appreciate what we were once given.

That is the stark reality of it as you say, the planet will go on to rejuvenate itself and remold its life and do it better without us

Yeah...it is payback! I just hope it isn't too late and we will be completely gone. I still have a bit of hope for my kids, grandkids, and their great grandkids. Nice write!

Dark, stark and prophetic; one can only hope mankind will awaken in time but as each year goes by, doubts increase. Nicely doen, Annabel. Love and best wishes,
