|Touching poem. I love the lines "our feet falling silent on grass-whispered memories..." There is sorrow in the lines, yet there is hope and courage and faith within the lines as well. I leave treading softly with a prayer in my heart for all of those who struggle with this disease...and for those who mourn for those who have been lost to the clutches of various cancers as well.

|A lovely poem Kate. You beautifully intertwined a sense of fear, longing, loss and hope in your words. I lost my mum to cancer and, in some ways, I think I'm still holding my breath. It I let it out, I'm sure my scream would rend a hole in the world. Thankyou for sharing this poem!|

|Painful, yet amid the agony of the race comes the jubilant chorus, enough to allay any aching muscles, if not physically but mentally, and most satisfying. Well done Kate, well done.

|"...cordoned fields are still thick with pink -" oh yes!; luv the shirts, Girls. Such upbeat, airy, positive joy here, Kate, war on the menace, beating the demonic threat. Way to go...and under 38 minutes...about the time it takes me to get out of bed.

|A lovely tribute, friend...this should raise heart beats and awareness of diseases that cripple and maim. Aside from the effectiveness of the writing, I am always amazed by your diction and dicisions of word usage--how you have such great structure, yet have a certain free-verse feel.|
