Can't say why or even how

evreything's green just now

the sky spills colors of grass

my eye fills like emerald glass

what is this then?

chapter what? in another when

Maybe it's in the edge or lack

that has me taken aback

i mean, it's half as much

or less, yeah, some such

yet the attraction exists

and my wonderment persists

mayhap i know less than i should

or how, at all, it ever could

The pacing is off, that's right

still doesn't soften the bite

Man, i don't like to be conclusion-based

but less, I abhor ending up red-faced

I guess I'll search to find a reason

for why this green augurs of treason

maybe the broken gears are set agrind

and i shudder at what i may find

under the starving smile i display

i'm swimming in dischord and dismay

another Sunday in a life less filling

another open wound left raw and spilling

whatever force is at work - admit it

no, better still, just friggin' quit it.

I read this as I would read the confession of a close friend. That kind of feeling.
