“How we behave towards cats here below,

Will determine our status in heaven.”

Robert A. Heinlein

June is ‘Adopt a Shelter Cat Month’

Cats make such truly wonderful pets

There are so many, in need of our help

We have much work to do for them, yet

Far too many of them, are being abandoned

Far too many, never get spayed or neutered

Far too many, are unwanted, and euthanized

Far too many, today, have little reason to purr

Far too many adults are left behind, in foreclosed homes

Far too many tiny kittens, forced to fend for themselves

Far too many cats of all ages, starving and without hope

It is we humans, who have caused their modern day hell

Cats were once considered ‘gods’ by the ancients

Today, so many humans, ignore their dire plight

There are far too many felines, without any hope

Far too many, are wandering our streets, each night

And sadly, America’s shelters are also overflowing

With felines of all ages, sizes, colors, and dispositions

The month of June, is a wonderful time, to adopt a feline

Please help us, to bring their modern day plight, to an end

There's a little homeless kitty been hanging 'round the apartment complex. A little black kitty I've named 'Little Screamer,' because she is. A screamer. FEED ME! FEED ME NOWWWW! Oh, Ed, I wish I could keep her. She's adorable! The apartment complex I live in will not permit cats. She's breaking my heart! All I can do is give her water and tuna. Best I can do.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla. :(

And not just in the shelters but out here in the country where people supposedly "have" a cat but amounts to no more than setting another loose to defend for itself and try and survive.

I would adopt one but one just adopted me here in the Ocala Forest this year and I am feeding at least two others each night on my porch with the "community bowl". I wish people would understand, CATS ARE NOT wild animals, they need a provider! Thanks for being one...

We adopted a dog last month that acts a whole lot more like a cat than a dog. The only thing it doesn't do is meow. Patrick

Bless you Ed for loving God's creatures. As you know my old girl died a few months ago. I think I need another cat soon, I miss her so. I'll know when the time is right.

Cats & I never seemed to get along or mix & right now I am still tossing the idea of getting another dog around...I want to be sure I can provide for one before I take the plunge...thinking of an Australian shepherd or a yellow lab if I do get one...like a mixed/mutt too, but have to find just the right one...ed

There are some abandoned in the park I walk, if one phones the shelter, they'll euthanize them, what a choice,
