A pleasant morning surprise.

Photo:From the back deck

I’d never seen a morning bow

An early gift wrap for the sky

Moments later it disappeared

As the sagging clouds began to cry

The lush green woods across the lake

Masking a lost tobacco farm

A century ago it was at its peak

A piece of old Missouri’s charm

Now

Mother Nature has it reclaimed

Hosting creatures big and small

Lakeside’s bounty redefining life

Far outside the shopping mall

There are SOOOO many older shopping malls and complexes that could be rehabed or rebuilt, but instead they seem to cut down beautiful trees or dig up old farms for new ones...you said a mouthful of beauty herein...e
