a buried footnote,
long, silent voices
speaking to the readers
of the world,

notion of
secret knowledge
in a mass of traveling
fire, specially designed
bin floating in etheric tabloid,
floating sex scandals and lesbians
outed in the most colorful peacock
galleries flagging hopes printed in
tintype,

advancing blaze,
she presses on and
a gap exists, everything
she thought she knew isn't,
the imagined West to some
is where she lives.

Simply Beaudacious!!...(You leave me with thoughts of a peacock strutting it's stuff even though there is vulnerability lying deeply within the essence of this western pioneer!

Much to think about, much to remember about this poem...Of course bravo to the Firebrand lesbian novelist, my dear Sage Sweetwater!

Another thought provoking poem Sage, the peacock has a hundred eyes, that's the legend. Perhaps that is part of the meaning here ~

Interesting, "a buried footnote" as if to imply that now is the time to resurface and stand ground...

You, Sage, are that footnote, the arcane wisdom that flourishes in true fire and annealing while the world blazes on in its superficial consumption.

"colorful peacock galleries"? What a great fraze! I mean phrase. Or praise? No gaps here. Your words aligned in the order pre or post ordained offering tantalizing rhythm to secret knowledge and the West.

Peace and biblical knowledge,

i like the feel of this, that what you believe to be true can be dislodged and then...what-a tough place to be in, i have had my ideas rocked a few times--usually it was a good thing!
