Summer days and solitude,
Wrapped up in her dreams,
She gently rocks upon her porch,
Neath warming sunny beams!

Sarah dreams of days long gone by,
When he was by her side,
She loved him more than life itself
Sixty years his bride!

He swore he’d never leave her,
Then fate got in the way,
Angels beckoned him to go,
And he left his bride one day.

But his spirit is always with her,
She speaks to him out loud,
And when she looks to the heavens above,
She sees him in the clouds.

She knows they’ll be together again,
Their journey’s not yet done,
A love like theirs will always be,
For two that are as one!

I had a great grandmother named Sarah and this speaks of her, though I never knew my great grandfather, they were married many years. Patrick

This is truly beautiful Anna, I believe that when we love that strongly a part of the persons spirit becomes a part of us and we will always be able to call on them when we feel the love...

Very lovely sentiments, Annabel. Not all love is as strong as that of which you write, but surely that are loves such as Sarah's and if there is truly a heaven, Sarah and her beloved will be together once again.
