Kiss me, my bittersweet,
Pull me into the depths, bury me beneath your roots
- I will suckle you there in the dark -
Wrap your tendrils around me, apply your tongue-sweet tonic
Again…again…nourish me with your essence,
Pierce me…bleed me…drink the venom from my veins…
Snare me, my lover, enclose me as tight as the tomb
(I wait for you to drink)
How I long to feel your weight upon me,
Impressing me, imprinting me with your sovereignty.
I am your kingdom…your nation…your fertile field…
Come, come…rule your lands…
Drink from me, my bittersweet, pluck the fruit
- Your passion is my sustenance -
Bury your roots in my soil…deeper…let’s go deeper,
Burrow our way into the Earth, into the abyss,
(We can rule together)
Down, down, down into the dark,
Into the unfathomable mystery -
Into the bittersweet intensity
Of the shadows, the secrets, the weight of our love…
