A poem about how friends come and go in our day to day lives and how they make a lasting impact upon us.

Solid Ground

We are adrift on diverging currents
Pulling us beyond straying horizons
Obscuring us from our yesterdays
Creating new vistas for us to navigate
Where we must draw upon our past
To offer us wisdom to forge ahead
Giving us sturdy legs upon high seas
Intent upon seeing that we flounder
Yet I fear not what come what may
I know I will stand on solid ground
For you will always be my foundation
No matter where my journey takes me
You will always be there as a beacon
Lighting my path ‘til the end of my days
Storyteller on the Lake

This is beautiful in both substance and presentation. It's pure and unobscured. Sincerity rises to the surface vulnerably offering itself to the page. There is a soft underbelly appeal to this poem, which I love. I feel like you've opened a door and are peeking inside a bit before opening it a bit more. I can't wait to see where it leads.
