Who are we to not forgive,
A soul who has gone astray?
Who are we to not help out,
One seeking a better way?
When we neglect but to forgive,
We place ourselves beyond accord;
Taught to us for two thousand years,
By a Savior who is our Lord.
To not forgive a person when,
They may have breached an earthly law;
Shows a weakness within our faith,
Simply another man made flaw.
Who are we to not forgive?
And welcome back within our fold;
To follow what our Lord had taught,
While on the cross our Jesus told.....
The thief that was hanging by His side,
He said, "In Heaven you will be;"
Sins He forgave before He died,
Christ wants the same from you and me.
Are we above the word of God?
That we cannot forgive mistakes;
Remember what our Lord once said,
Simply believe, that's all it takes.
So, my friends, I've made my plea,
I pray we find the chosen path;
Not one of us would Heaven have,
Should God unleash His justly wrath.

|Its aways better to forgive if one can do so. It takes a lot of unhealthy energy to be angry and carry it around.. ...M|

|Keep forgiving the Taliban and all those men killed in Afghanistan. those who went to heaven on 911. Such forgiveness is amazing, as it means never to retaliate. You are a much better man than I can ever be.|

|Such thruths and sadness in your poem, Paul. Forgiveness is so simple where there is love and faith; it is the sweetness that removes bile from our hearts. I agree with John M.D., that forgiveness begins with self; then it spreads to others. Hold to your faith, my friend.

|Hi Paul, You wrote a special poem about forgiveness. BRAVO! I would like to share this with the kids in the reform camp that we visit. OK? Did you know that prisoners have a tough time with this? Yes, the toughest person to forgive for the crimes that they recall is forgiveness of self. Once they forgive themselves they are on the road towards forgiving others. What a wonderful God we have!
Amen my friend!
