.

The final battle had been won
English victory was now complete
Washington’s defeat left him deplete

The King could celebrate
the English victory of 1776

George Washington was feeling blue
on this day his hair went blue
The English had easily won

The boys in red would have to stay
to keep the savages at bay

This could not be done, it
was time to beat Napoleon

An English general had a cunning plan
never has this before been told
to Washington it was easily sold

Beneath a cherry tree big wig was found
splintered teeth a peculiar sound

“Bury the hatchet old boy
we have a devious plan
we’ll exchange your rags
for our camouflaged red
swapping our living for your dead

Then we can pretend that you have won
getting us out of this awful sun

Washington said
“Well chaps what’s in it for me?”

"Free tea, a State and white house,
annual fireworks from sea to sea in memory
of our secret agreement under the tree
completely Tax free”

With the hatchet buried
July forth is still famed for the
English freed from such misery
and the deal made beneath a cherry tree

Note the hint of a smile, may I permit myself a teensie laugh? ~And on behalf of your side of the ocean and of mine, my hand is outstretched across the sea!

I have told you repeatedly Andy. Do not sit sit under the cherry tree with anyone wearing a wig and a red coat! It is Johnny Carson in disguise and he is out to make you appear foolish with his twisted sense of humor. Ed McMahon is behind the tree laughing with tears in his eyes. May peace and love be always with you my friend. Jon Michael

Very funny, it could have happened that way, I can imagine it...and by the way, the next time Germany attacks England, just give US a call & leave a message...though we may treat you like a bill collector & never return the call...e

There could be a lot of truth to this, Andy. I mean the British should have won. It is a lot like our countries in the middle east who wants to stay there when you could be home. At least we fight side by side now.

GOD BLESS YOU

Andy, dear...methinks there is no truths in you tale of woe, and you've opened the Tea Pot! A primary truth you forgot...the cherry tree had been chopped down and could not have been found by the bedraggled Brits.

But there is quite a bit of humor within your imagination...so now, rewrite the World Cup win by U.S. :o)
