I wish you knew How badly I want You to love me. Your words, Their power And their tenderness, They take me higher Than the touch Of any other man, But you've made no secret Of the limits To which you will succumb. You want nothing lasting, No mention of forever, You've been down that road, You say, And have no desire To go down it again. What else can I do But break the bond I feel for you And cast myself Adrift once more Upon the sea Of improbable Dreams?
