Fred and I took off for a few days, we ended up in Cape Breton visiting Rita MacNeil's Tearoom. It was amazing to see all the photos and all her awards through the years. I have always admired her voice.

He said honey, let’s go for a ride,
Ya just the two of us,
Just a ride meant,
I didn’t have to fuss.
My hair was a mess
I had no make up on,
But he said just a ride,
Usually doesn’t mean for long.
Where are we going I politly asked,
Don’t worry dear you’ll have a blast,
Hours later I worried okay,
The sign read Cape Breton along the way.
Would you like to stop for a tea,
Yes dear, now wouldn’t be too soon,
As he pulled up to this classy place,
That said “Rita MacNeils Tearoom”
The walls were surounded by awards,
The pictures of family and friends,
Gifts and treasures given her,
I tell you there was no end.
Her records adored the walls,
Of this quite room off on it’s own,
Once you walked through the door,
They made you feel at home.
My hair was still a mess,
Worst then it was before,
No make up to adorn my face,
All forgotten as I walked in the Tearoom door.
