yellow, brown, red, and gold..
the fall season has now taken hold.

gently to the ground, the leaves do fall..
and some people don't like that at all.

for fall signals shorter and colder days,
and summer ends in subtile, sublime ways.

the birds head south, going where they go,
for they don't want to be around when it snows.

the leaves tumble to the ground without a sound,
and soon their beautiful colors cover the ground.

it is hard work for those who have to rake,
but for the kids, it is a time for a playful break.

jumping in the leaves like rabbits, they squeal,
and grandparents reflect when they had that zeal.

it is time to take out the AC and swap for sweaters;
for fall is often the start of cooler, pleasant weather.

it is also time to bring out pumpkins and treats;
for at halloween, the kids can't resist a tasty feast!

fall also signals time for turkey and trimmings;
it is no longer time to spend the day swimming!!

fall also means football action on the gridiron;
and animals burrowing among their environs.

fall is certainly a beautiful time of year, that is true ;
but i certainly love the fall about you?

fall..oh, how i do love it!!
