Marriage, which was established by God, is a serious undertaking. I believe that true love is not based on caring for another because of similarities, but that it is based on caring 'despite' dissimilarities. I believe that many rely too much on themselves to make a marriage work. I believe that when God brings two people together, He keeps them together and, If He is allowed to, He can and He will perform the blessed 'miracle' of molding two...into one. When my baby girl got married a few years ago...this is what I was inspired to pen...

The journey you've just begun

was not this moment spun

But long ago

before time as we know

God ordained that in years to come

You two would be made one

~~~
Now as you proceed along your course
there will come a time when winds will toss
But falter not along the way
for God walks with you day by day
Sustained by His Mercy and Grace
Go on together...win the race!
~~~

May the Word of God and prayer

lead you through

May the Blood of Jesus cover you

In whatever you may do

Remember that whether up or down

all things were designed to bring you two

closer...to make your bond 'sound'

~~~
I pray for you...that come what may
His joy...will encourage you
His peace...will keep you
I pray Jesus will lead you...all the way
Joyce,
You are so very right, the world would have us believe the complete opposite concerning marriage. I am glad I am married to a man who respects God's word just like I do. No marriage is perfect but with God on our side we shall and we will conquer anything the world or satan has to throw at us. Thank you, great write.
In an age where 50% of marriages get off hand easy quick divorces, it is refreshing to hear that there are people that still have faith in the family institution of marriage.
God bless you and your child entering marriage with an open heart.
This is a very good poem and a lesson for all. My wife and I have been married 36 years, and we got married when we were 17. I don't know what I would do without her, she is my best friend, and we have been through better and worse, sickness and health. May God bless you every day of your life.
