There is just one person in this world that has the ability to drag me down to the point where I feel useless and insecure and just want to cry. Today I ran in to this person and for the short time I saw him (about 30 min while I was driving him home) he managed to make a nervous wreck out of me. Thankfully I don't have to see much of him anymore.

Why are you sighing like that?
You don't like the way I drive?
(I remember when you told me time and time again that I'm a shitty driver)

Why are you rolling your eyes like that?
You don't like what I'm saying?
(I remember when you told me time and time again that I'm crazy and I don't know what I'm talking about)

Why are you making those noises, while rolling your eyes and sighing?
Am I not allowed to make conversation?

Why do I feel so useless after seeing you?
There's nothing wrong with me. I have not one, but two jobs. What have you got?

The hell with you. You don't know what you're talking about.

Nothing is worth letting someone abuse us like that and it is abuse when someone can trigger us to that state. Good Riddance to bad rubbage. I like how you write Elizabeth.

Good progression from being intimidated to taking control! You are a beautiful person! Others can not change that!

A poem very full of emotion, and it is so good to hear you are no longer shackled to this fellow ~

Elisabeth, you have taken control of your life and the adverse influence of this individual -- good for you -- may peace and love be always with you my friend -- Jon Michael

The last line says it all. You can't let another person interrupt you or put you down, you're too good for them.

My mother used to always say that people who try to build themselves up by tearing down other people are to be avoided. Good slice of life here, too true in too many relationships in everyone's life. Be strong.

Assertive and empowering; good for you, Elisabeth. Do not let anyone bring you down. It seems to me that such individuals actually feel inadequate about themselves. Love and best wishes,

I think most of us at one time or another find ourselves in or out of relationships like that. It seems like no matter how hard we try or how much effort we extend we can not be good enough to please them...that is when we need to move on and do a self reflection to know we are better than that. Good write Elizabeth.
