Understanding ourselves

Awareness, contemplation, epiphany’s of sorts, how do we know when their time has come?

It doesn’t come with chimes or even a simple bell ringing in your mind.

We start with the questions, the wondering of whys. We turn these thoughts over and over in our mind.

I guess the repetition and the frequency of these unknowns are supposed to show us the way to go.

More often then not, they show us our dilemmas and fears. Confusion runs unabated or sorrows rule the day.

Then slowly and without warning, answers find questions, with or without pain.

Answers like children start slowly; you could say that they begin as a crawl.

Then one step then another as the child stands and tries to walk. Suffering the missteps, the stumbles, and the sorrowful falls.

So do us as we attempt to understand ourselves; this slow educational process that we all must endure.

To some it comes easy, but to a few it does not, the deciding factor is always how often we can gather ourselves and keep traveling down this lonesome road.

A test of strength and endurance is placed before us, how we accept this challenge will tell all there is about us and show the world.

I can see my answers as plain as kites dancing in the clear blue sky. Riding the wind always under control, but, still flying free.

There was no warning, no, there were no bells. Just a new found serenity in the way I viewed life.

Now my kites don’t fly. They dance among the clouds on a very bright and sunny day.

I guess I now understand myself and all that’s meant to be.

I think most folks strive for perfection of self, which makes life a virtual role of doing, changing, and being. What was important last week may not be the issue today, thus we are always re-editing our thoughts and feelings.
