Not much to this poem. Just an old man reflecting on a hot summer day

Evening has come.  Another hot July day is done

The temperature is now dropping to ninety-one

A breeze rustles through the trees beneath the setting sun

The clouds float lazily in bellows across the sky

I watch a lone bird in flight flying high

The color of the sun now shines as scarlet in the western sky

I patiently await the rising of the moon in the eastern horizon

For just moments we will see both moon and sun

Then as the sun sinks slowly from our sight

The temperature falls and darkness approaches for  It is now twilight

We settle ourselves in for another July night

And await the morning which comes with the first bird’s flight

And the moon moves to the west and out of sight

Once more in the east we see the morning sunlight

"The temperature is now dropping to ninety-one"

We relate... soft and sweet these reflections ae, and through it all God is good.

Reflecting is good, as is your poem.

The day's end often is a source of inspiration for me as well, Lew. Twilight gives an almost "palpable" feeling to our surroundings if we pay attention. Nicely expressed. Love and blessings to you,
