Like a caring mother, after a long busy day,
Spends the ticking time with children before bed,
The little ones, prefering instead
TV time and playful wake,
Toys and clothing spread about like waves on a lake,
She gazes with loving care at these children
Precious and innocence, pleasantries, and peace
Could there be more one can ask for?
Which, but for a moment in time, surpassed?
So is it with countless examples of Nature
The calm sea, turned inside out
Becomes the raging storm and all is lost
We are dealt with the cost
Of fool's hope for endless offerings
Nature's playthings, presented in colors
Bubbling blue waters with white caps
Coastlines, born of wind and rain, perfect soil
A sandy shore, with deep shifting mounds
Reminders of how finite the timeline may be
Scarcity is but around the corner
If we wish to ignore and misuse
Leading a life too full of ignorance to know
How far we have come
But with so much more to do
Protect yourself...O caring mother!
