The Environmentally Friendly Green Shave

The Environmentally Friendly, Thrifty, Green Shave

By a method called “Trial and Error,”
With a test group of one,
Over a period of 104 weeks and counting,
One doesn't have to waste hot water shaving,
And just for fun and to make a point,
I added some green food coloring
To some shaving soap.
A shaving mug and a brush are
Greener, in the modern sense,
Than an aerosol can.
An aerosol can cannot be good for
The Environment.
The cup I use, I call “Vincent.”
Vincent could be the name
of the dog on the cup.
But the dog’s name is “Frank.”
The cup, not the cur,
Has an unbreakable ear.
Because it has already been broken.
I feel that hot water softens
The skin more than it does the beard,
And even in our unheated bathroom
In the “harsh” Central Texas winters,
It’s bearable, and I don’t nick myself so much.
And strangely, my trio of blades
makes it through a year,
Without fear.
Thrift is another feature.
