From Here Forward

It's really not where we have been, it's rather about where we are going.

Why recycle the things that are past
Those are the things that time will outlast

That was then and there
This is here and now

The compass for tomorrow begins with today
It seems only logical, it works just that way

The road ahead is my main concern
Not the why's of the past to try and discern

If I am to maintain a proper accord
The mistakes of the past I must not hoard

That was then and there
This is here and now

To dwell on before, I cannot abide
It is not because of desire to hide

Just a common sense feeling it is futile to be moored
In matters past doing beyond what I could

I keep a clear mind and without discord
I choose from here forward and goals I move toward
