A Seashore Fairytale Come True
When she told him she was finally flying
On a jumbo jet across the Northern skies
The pure happiness overwhelmed him
Teardrops of joy filled his sky blue eyes
She said find us a secluded hideaway
Somewhere with a nice view and breeze
Maybe a little cottage by the ocean
Where we can run naked if we please
Said goodbye and hung up their phones
He knew he had so much work to do
Called up an old friend and called in a favor
A friend with a cozy cabin just right for two
He drove there that very afternoon
While her morning flight was still in the air
He shopped in town and worked for hours
Couldn’t wait for her to finally get there
So with everything finally in place he drove
To the airport with a bouquet of lilies white
His heart stopped beating for a moment
When down the stairs she soon came in sight
In the busy airport lounge he kissed her
Shared teardrops taste of salt on lips
Arms pressed bodies firmly together
Chest to chest and hips to hips
When they finally broke apart
he wanted her right there
He said lets get your luggage
Before I make love to you right here
In the car they talked of little things
Both anticipating what was in store
He said I found the perfect spot for us
Down along the Fundy Shore
They held hands and smiled at each other
Until he turned into the little lane to the beach
When he parked the car they both got out
Once more his arms for her did reach
Then they walked along the shoreline
To a cabin all but hidden by a dune
Surprise he said and she jumped for joy
When she saw her new bedroom
He’d build a love nest of wood and lace
Where the waves could sing their song
A place to snuggle under moon and stars
A place to make love all night long
Now no need for me to give the full details
Of this summer fairytale love story by the sea
Let’s just say it was just such a perfect dream
That the rest they say…is history!!!!
