Simple metaphorical comparison of love to fire.

The tongue of the flame
Like a fiery whip of rage
To lash upon my back,
And slash passed
The flesh and bone
To char all that is
And will come to be

An animate body of malice
Unforgiving and ruthless
To all that breathes and does not
Knowing not of amnesty,
And only to clench and kill
Only to burn and kill
With hands of malevolence

But I know not how I would fare
Should I lose the eyes,
That are the rubies of the flame,
Which keep the wolves away
And are the beauty within the beast

O, and nor could I fathom
How in my dreariest of moments
How even the most starlit night
Would be silent, and would be the darkest
Would be dead, and would be the coldest

And now I feel as if the air itself hates me
The hands of the flame no longer embrace me
And the tongue no longer speaks to me
And now I know I would feel every burn,
Every scorching and piercing moment..

Just to look into the eyes,
That are the rubies of the flame
And that kept the wolves away
And that are the beauty of the beast.
