Got home late last Saturday night

Me and the spouse got into a fight

It wasn’t about drinkin’ or chasin’ tail

Thought I made my case but to no avail

It was complicated

The hands on the clock were hard to deny

It was kind of hard for me to explain why

The hour of arrival was so darn late

I couldn’t understand why she was so irate

It was just complicated

I’d been out just shootin’ some pool

When the friendly little game turned into a duel

The stakes had risen to a quarter a game

I was down by four, a buck what a shame

And it was getting complicated

Now normally I’m a pretty good sport

But this shootin’ match I could hardly abort

Pride and all and of course that one dollar bill

But I didn’t figure I was actually playing a shill

Now it was getting really complicated

We raised the stakes to 50 cents a game

I was hoping I might play a little less lame

When I sank the eight ball on a three bank shot

But the cue ball followed and happy I was not

This was not complicated

Down a buck and a half desperation set in

So we both doubled down I was sure I could win

And sure as heck the eight ball fell into the net

But it wasn’t my shot and this I’ll never forget

Things can get complicated

Folks take some advice when you’re losing at pool

A six year old grand kid can make you look like a fool

And sometimes the stakes get higher than you like

That rotten little kid now has a brand new bike

And I’m stuck with the realization that sometimes

I make things…………. too complicated

Hoping the world knows you have a very active imagination and that your oldest grandchild is 4. :0) Funny and a fun narrative with truth in it as far as the message goes.

You need the pool table at home with full-bar, music system and flat-screen television. Simple, no complications..................keep the wifey happy.

I learned many years ago
that no matter how hard I tried
to fool myself into believing
I was the next Minnesota Fats...
I was the fool;
blowing my college tuition,
night after night,
on a silly game of pool.

Funny poem.

Yeah, yeah! And I remember all those swimming races in the pool when my five, seven and nine year old kids beat me on those one lap racees from the narrow side. Jeeze being beaten by a five year old. Jeeze!!

A six year old grand kid can make you look like a fool

Now ain't that the truth. I quit betting against my nieces and nephews, I think they must be cheating. And I quit playin golf against my wife since she started beating me. (She must be cheatin, too!)
