They Didn't Know

They Didn’t Know
They didn’t know what they were doing
As they walked into that school.
They didn’t think how it would feel,
Lying in blood, a pool.
Everyone full of innocence,
No one aware of the pain
That these two boys would cause
The sound that the booms would drain.
Screams could be heard out in the hallway,
Far far too close.
The horror that these boys were causing
The devil resembles their pose.
The police had a warrant to search,
The house of one of the boys.
If only they looked at the warrant
Instead of using others as decoys.
The bombing and the gunshots
That everyone hears
Are drained out by the nervousness
The cries, people’s tears
Parents, and teachers
Students, and friends,
The crying will continue,
It will never end.
Strangers across the country,
Who didn’t know where Columbine was,
Are now sending letters and cards,
They feel it is for a cause
That making fun of students
And telling them they don’t belong
Will only lead to more pain
Not only leaving the tongue
They didn’t know what they were doing
Unaware of what was their part.
That not only would it scar your bodies
But it would scar the heart.

This is a very well written poem that covers the pain and freight of that day.. I had a personal connection to this.. My Neices were in classes that day.. Terrifying.. And horrifiying for those that lost the loved ones.... Yes it did scar the heart...
