I am the Islamic Insurgent
In the name of Allah I shoot
On one hand I carry my gun
On the other I hold the Koran
Children at all ages are my target
I kill some in my daily rocket supply
While I train others for insurgency
On the sands of terror I take a walk
Leaving behind footprints of terror
Unless I spill blood of the innocent
I find no ink into which I dip my pen
Terrorism is a card I play with the devil
There is life in the death of others

Abdi-Noor, I find only atrocity in the death of others at the hands of terrorists. Justification for the murder of innocent lives is to be found nowhere in the pages of any of God's religions. Your poem is gripping, and your understanding of the tragic dilemma of terrorism a reminder of man's inhumanities to his fellow man. How can such barbarism be permitted to exist among the family of man? May love joy and peace reach out to you in everything you do. Jon Michael

Your poem is a well-honed sword of truth, Abdi-Noor. Sadly, killing has been justified in the name of religion/s forever and sadly, we seem to have learned nothing. Thank you. Love and peace,

This is a terrifying reality. Well written. Your poem has left me feeling nervous and frightened for the innocent. We need reminders and you give them. Thank you for not letting us forget.

It's horrendous enough that men insist on war, but to drag innocent children into it, is truly abysmal.
