Dream Thoughts

In bed last night I felt a shiver

From the night breeze off the sea

In a room lit only by moonbeams

Restless mind wouldn’t let me be

I thought about the day’s events

About the past…all things gone by

Felt a little wave of sadness break

Almost just enough to make me cry

I thought about the days to come

That stretch so quickly into years

With a heart’s dreams unfulfilled

Swimming in a lake of wistful tears

I thought about all the “what ifs”

How they so easily flow around you

I know that time is the great decider

But that sometimes dreams come true

And somewhere in all that thinking

I fell to sleep just thinking of your kiss

I think sometimes we think to much

Instead of holding to our lover’s wish…

This observation is astute Felix. The heart is a marvelous chaperon and skilled dream maker. May joy, love and peace be with you my friend. Jon Michael

I agree....we tend to make some things way more complicated than they need to be. Lovely words, Fee....

I sometimes chide myself for being so lost in my dreams - until I wake up to the fact that, whether they be based in reality or merely in the poetic constructs of my mind and imagination, they have literally changed my actual life and experience on a day-to-day and literal basis over the past seven years. That in itself is a form of fulfillment, no? But yeah... there's ALWAYS more! Reminds me of my favourite quote by Browning: "Ah! But a man's reach exceed his grasp or what's a heaven for?!"... As for me, I still await "heaven on earth" perhaps! Lyrical, lilting and oozing with emotion as always. Lovely work, xx

Fee, I think you're right...sometimes we do think too much...and yet, there are other times when we don't think quite enough! Difficult finding that middle ground...but I also think it's better to know than to always wonder, "what if?" Beautiful work.

Fee, I agree, in the depth of thoughts that can be so complex it is the simplicty of the heart's wish that holds the key~love this

My advise - for what's it's worth
Put those thoughts into action
Wake up and smell the roses
Taste the wine
Like a vapor - is time.

Great Poetry

Sometimes our minds can play tricks on us if we think too much! A break is very important so we can refresh our thoughts. A sweet kiss is a dream I'd like to have over, and over. Peace to you always! ~Chessly
