Wrote this way back on July 16, 2007 for book 3 in my Lessons in Life series, TRAILS TO ETERNITY. Just came across it again this morning and simply wanted to share it with you all. Have a great day, my friends and may God bless you abundantly. |

Wind comes screaming through the trees,
As the fierce storm comes a calling;
The creatures that live in the forest,
They heed this most deadly warning.
Raindrops like the sting of a needle,
Painful to many that they strike;
Thunder sounds like an avalanche,
Making the darkened sky so bright.
The bears hide safely in their dens,
Not seeking out berries today;
The buck with his doe will protect,
The fawn huddled down in the hay.
Birds of all kinds cling to branches,
The gale so fierce they cannot fly;
In the distance a pack of wolves,
Can be heard brandishing their cries.
Younger trees bend down with the wind,
The oldest ones snap and crash down;
The weakest of all are picked up,
Torn by their roots out of the ground.
The most feared beast of the mountains,
Even it is frightened today;
The North American cougar,
Another of mother nature's pray.
Huge beaches quickly washed away,
The largest sand dunes are leveled;
When the wrath of God's great storm hits,
The land will begin to tremble.
All trees, structures, the earth itself,
And every living creature;
Nothing is safe from its deadly rage,
The power within a Nor'easter!

| Being born and raised on a hilltop farm in NH I've had many experiences like this. I love the way you dance it into words. |

| THOUGH I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCES ONE PERSONALLY, I HAVE HEARD OF THEM AND SEEN THE EFFECTS OF THEM...NOR'EASTER'S ARE FIERCE, AND YOU IMAGERY GIVES A TRUE PICTURE OF HOW NATURE AND ITS INHABITANTS REACT TO IT. THE POWER OF THE NOR'EASTER REMINDS ME OF THE POWER OF GOD AND KNOWING THAT OUR GOD IS 'SO' MUCH MORE POWERERFUL THAN IT IS...I AM GLAD THAT I AM HIS CHILD AND I FEEL SO 'PROTECTED'. THANKS FOR THIS PERFECT 'REMINDER'. GOD BLESS AND THANKS FOR SHARING, LOVE AND BLESSINGS, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS |
