'The Gods of Autumn' was one of Goya's Child's (1) first songs - it arrived during our first collective jam out on a block of land owned then by Rod Blackhirst (I still have the recording). The song featured in live gigs now and then throughout the early 90s- always stirring the audience with its powerful drum beat and sheer energy. After I left GC (1) in 1993 the song was renamed, the verse lyrics were revamped and the song was built more around the original chorus by Liam Thorpe (which was about diffiuclties father son relationships - another theme of GC (1). In this new form the song appeared on the GC (2)soundtrack to the movie Freedom Deep.I like both versions of this song - later versions, recorded digitally, are available for download at GC (2's)'Reverbnation' site. This version live at Artspace central Bendigo, 1992.The video accompanying the song plays on the original theme to the song and features photographs of my travels through, in particualr, Asia over the last 16 years or so - there the 'Gods' though in their 'autumn' remain part of the fabric of everyday life!
