I WANTED TO GO OUT TO PLAY ONE DAY.

               MY SISTERS NAPPED,

SO MOM NEEDED TO STAY .

I DIDN’T WANT TO GO ALONE

BUT SHE THOUGHT THE FRESH AIR

 WOULD BE GOOD FOR ME.

TIMES WERE DIFFERENT THEN.

SHE SAID I COULD GO TO THE PARK NEXT DOOR.

STILL NOT WANTING TO GO ALONE,

SHE THOUGHT SHE COULD ENTICE ME

WITH A LITTLE GAME…

SHE PASSED ME A SALT SHAKER OFF THE TABLE

AND SENT ME ON MY WAY, SAYING

IF YOU CAN SHAKE THIS SALT

ON THE PIGEONS TAIL

YOU CAN BRING HIM HOME.

I SPENT HOURS TRYING THAT SUMMER

WITH NO LUCK.

NOW AS I SIT BY THE SHORE AND WATCH

THE SEAGULLS WALK THE BEACH

I LOOK AT THE SALT PACKET IN MY HAND

FOR MY FRIES

AND WONDER IF…………
