I grew up in the fifties and sixties.

The fifies were great
It was a time
Of reverence

We played outside
Everyday
Even in the cold

There were no
Computers then
Our imaginations soared

Very seldom
Did we
Become bored

Rode our bikes everywhere
Roller skated, ice skated
Walked, marbles and yo-yo's

Went to church
Then the show
Sunday was a day of rest

You knew your neighbors
They knew you
If you needed help

They'd come through
The fifties had
Less stress too

The sixties were
A time of change
And turmoil

There was the hippies
" Make love not war "
Vietnam war

Demonstrations
On college campus'
Weathermen and Black Panthers

I grew up in
Interesting times
The 50's and 60's

Actually, I grew up in the forties, and whatever you didn't have in the fifties, I had even less of... However, we played outside. Mom was home to take care of me and my brothers. Television was not even a thought. We lived in what one may call a ghetto, but I had nice clothes and good food and a warm, loving home and became a young adult in the fifties, so really consider myself not a child of the fifties, but a "man of the fifties."

Nice flow, Amazing times!
I love to read about nostalgia and memories ~
Also, the music during those two decades was incredible!
Joy,
Christine
