The Silver Quill & Well

This poem was inspired by the title of my website, "Silver Quill & Well" . . . I chose the name because it went along with the purpose of my writing ~ as a healing tool (Quill & Well to represent writing and Silver because in "Color Therapy" it is the color of spiritual & emotional healing and also represents life & death and/or coming back from death) . . .

I picked up the Silver quill and dipped it into the well, also Silver

Black ooze - dark as the grave - dripped from the quill,

as I lifted it out

I touched the tip of the quill to the parchment and began to scribble

Silver letters, not black, shimmered back at me . . .

I continued to write and then dipped the quill again

Thick tenebrous liquid lingered on the quill,

as I returned it to the scroll

Again and again, I dipped the quill . . .

Again and again, the afflicted sludge clung to the quill . . .

Again and again, luminous passages emerged . . .
.
