This poem was, and to a certain extent still is, something of a puzzle to me. At the time it was written it pointed me in the direction of a different 'poetic' - one based upon acknowledgment of the world's structural deficiencies (the existence of suffering as fundamental to the functioning of the world, for example). The poem also suggests all dualities have a third, triangular dimension ... Postmodernist in tone (opaque and distant)? Probably, but not deliberately so ... I look at it as a delightful puzzle of a poem ...
