If only the clock can turn back to a time of innocence,

There would be no hesitance,

Talking to you brings back the fun memories,

But also the recollection of our tumultuous history.

If only it could be,

Like the first time you spoke to me,

Purely innocent feedback,

Not a roll in the sack.

The laughter and comradery,

Is something that will last indefinitely,

If only the lines never crossed,

I wouldn’t feel such a loss.

Friendship is a fine line,

Dare to cross it and you just may find,

You wish you never crossed the line.

True friends stay with you, never leaving you behind, i've had a few that weren't true friends, so don't regret their leaving either. Your poem says lots that is very true and i can relate.

So true, indeed. Crossing Lines - maybe that will be my next poem. It changes everything. Three cheers for the "innocence" factor! -- Jeff Mason
