Better than a box in an alley…

Thank you to Karla & Karen for reminding me what I have got that some others don't...

It may not be warm,

In fact in winter its quite cool,

Not insulated after all,

Better off in the spring, summer & fall…

Yes, though its better than a box,

Where even wearing two pairs of sox,

One can freeze to death overnight,

Out of the wind, rain & snow,

Is better than being out in it, by a long sight…

Comfort of a bed,

Warm clothes & hats for my head,

Running water for showers,

A place to be in the wee small hours…

Food available & minimal heat,

Is better than freezing off my feet,

Sofa & TV, music from a radio,

Hell, I’m not so bad off, better than being on the street…

Writes like a pleasant, simple life, most don't know how to live.

Blessed are those, who know they are blessed. Many human beings (and homeless critters) don't even have boxes in America's alleys, today. I couldn't believe the number of people I saw sleeping in the streets and alleys while I was out chasing another forlorn stray dog the other night. Wandering around at night gives one a whole different perspective.

A roof over your head is all that is needed. Quite confortable for you.

You have got to be kidding Ed! Can't you drive that RV to somewhere where the sun shines? Brrrr, made me cold just reading about it LOL.

Spring time in Oz ;-)

Count your every blessing and thank God above for them! Keep on thanking Him; never stop! Kinda' puts a whole new outlook on things, doesn't it?? Great write!

(((HUGS))), love, and continuing prayers~

As always, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :D

Honest and real; this poem has "punch" because it is born of experience. Thank you, Ed. Love and peace to you, bro...

Wonderfully put appreciation. You truly are lucky to have an RV. When I get drepressed about living in the back seat of my car, (periodically on a couch) I imagine what it would be like without it. . .and feel thankful.

Yes, most of us are blessed to have what we have. But I interact daily with people who don't have enough. I'm grateful for what I've been blessed with.

What's the deal with all that snow Ed? I'm not ready to see that yet!

Peace,
Dayvid

It must be fun to travel anywhere at a moment's notice and have the comfort of home!
