Intellect Where

My generation; Generation 'X' and todays society often causes me to wonder, where has intellect gone?

Intellect...Where?

Searching for that little bit of spark
Wanting a subject that creates interest
The kind that lasts through the day
And into the dark
I am so sick of all the fluff
Mumbo-jumbo “talk” about stupid stuff
Talk to me and make me think
Get the wheels turning
And my mind burning
Please..!
I am on the brink
Of complete and utter boredom
I want to bang my head against the wall
I turn on the TV
And all I see
Is fake this and that
Who’s screwing who
Why I should wear this kind of shoe
Boobs and hair
Brains? Nowhere...
Stimulate me in a way that is useful
Where have all the meaningful lyrics gone?
Turn on the radio
And it has become so wrong
Ears fed sap, porn, drugs, violence, and fame
My poor musical soul is left lame
I listen hoping to hear something I need
Until my ears bleed
I need something for which my brain can feed
I am sick of all the fluff
Mumbo Jumbo
And stupid stuff
Where did all the intellect go?
It has to be out there somewhere...
Anyone care to share?

Clever poem!
And I understand your frustration.
I don't have a tv, and I take most of the news in by way of public radio or word of mouth. It feels great!
Blessings,
Christine
