there is nothing i can do but stare
at the horror unfolding before eyes
shock and awed into disbelief.
...
   ...
      ...
i think, it can't be.  not here.
...
   ...
      ...
i think, tell me this is just a movie.
...
   ...
      ...
i gasp, herecomesanotherone!!!
...
   ...
      ...
i say, my God.
...
   ...
      ...
can't.  watch ---
...
   ...
      ...
but the tv stays on.  i watch
the planes ram the buildings
once.  twice.  again.  again.
...
   ...
      ...
the Towers fall repetitively.
...
   ...
      ...
my heart cracks wide open.
...
   ...
      ...
tears roll down my cheeks.
...
   ...
      ...
i am undone.
...
   ...
      ...
and the first of my poems is born.

Very humaine refective thoughts. Giving honor to those who went through it. We can pray it never happens again.

Amen

As terrible as that day was, we must NEVER forget all who died, including the evil, lost ones who orchestrated it. The memory of them reminds us that we have cowardly enemies who hide behind innocent civilians, who believe they will win because they "love death while the West loves life." Their radical hate and disdain for the West cannot and must not be underestimated. Rebecca

KARLA -

my reaction was very similar - disbelief, awestruck, shell-shocked, paralyzed and glued to the TV ...

As time progressed. and the images of people leaping to their deaths kept repeating in my mind - then ANGER took over!

Those ruthless BASTARDS! HOW DARE THEY? The Twin Towers - then The Pentagon - then the plane in the pasture somewhere in PA ...

As more details were revealed about the perpetrators, and how they so easily took Flying lessons, right here, in America - my blood began to BOIL!

Where in the HELL was our government? the FBI? the CIA? the ADMINISTRATION?

THAT INFAMOUS DAY - 9-11 - WHEN ALL PLANES WERE GROUNDED FOR SECURITY!

It was like 'closing the barn door after the horses were stolen!'

This then begs the question - WHY?

Instead of cracking down on ALL MUSLIMS, closing down mosques where Terrorists are trained, and brain-washed, right here in America - and honestly Profiling suspicious individuals and groups - this was deemed by our illustrious 'Protectors' - our Government - as being 'politically incorrect!' "Turn the other cheek!"

Oh yeah, while all American planes were grounded - How come the very Next Day, Osama Bin Ladin's PARENTS were allowed and/or ASSISTED in Whisking Away by plane, out of the country - for THEIR SAFETY?

Instead of CRACKING DOWN on Possible and Probable 'Home-Grown Jihadists' - we got 'The Patriot Act' - an absolute intrusion on the lives of all 'normal' Patriotic Americans!
Delays and Lines in Airports for EVERYONE!

When will the 'DOPES' in power finally 'GET IT?' Tens of THOUSANDS of inmates in our penitentiaries are being BRAIN-WASHED' by IMAMS while in jail, then upon release, continuing their 'education' at known, infamous mosques - WHERE THE HELL IS HOMELAND SECURITY on this issue? WHY aren't they being RAIDED and SHUT-DOWN?

Are our stupid Leaders waiting for America to be Taken Over by the Muslims, like France, and England, and Spain, and other countries? SHARIA LAW SUCKS!

WHEN WILL THEY WAKE UP? DO WE NEED ANOTHER 9-11 ?

GOD HELP US! Tom.

9-11 had the same affect on many of us. When I was called back into the Army in 2002 at 52 years old, it's what prompted me to start writing too. Well done, Karla.
