I spent the night writing on the dirty wall with a #2 pencil, because some things need to be recorded
on stone.
In my foggy train of thought, I watched graphite cover and uncover the surface to the relentless rhythm of the
late night rain.
Then, I spent the day forgetting all those words, but my unapolegetic logic brought them back to me in the evening, because some things are difficult to erase
from the flesh.
The protective case around it should prevent the pigment core from breaking, I think.
And with my #2 pencil, once again, I plan to spend the night writing
on a stained wall.

This is beautiful. My favorite line..."The protective case around it should prevent the pigment core from breaking, I think." How oft I have wondered why it is that the heart, a powerful muscle in our bodies, can so easily be broken from without...

Love the imagery in this, Axilea. The emotions in this are deeply felt by your readers as well. Good and strong. In this case, your skin-deep is deeper than stone or bone. --Charlie

Like the way your mind works, Axilea. I too prefer
the #2 pencil, and usually get the same results.

I just read Peter Ozmann's poem before yours, and it's funny how the night idea in his is reminiscent of yours- like with his, I find myself relating to yours. As always, wonderful, Axilea.

I love the deeply personal silence of thought here. Lost in a conundru...........ha ha ha
I have a bad key board and the letter between L and N just quit working,
Well, ha ha that is the letter that goes at the end of that word, ha ha ha ha.
Take care Axilea, I love this piece. Now to fix this thing or get a new one! ha.

What a creative take on "the writing on the wall!"

I LOVE it !!

...even if you are stonewalling... :)

Couldn't resist. Sorry! The poem is superb.

interesting how you use a #2 pencil ... things can be recored on stone but if we aspire to it, they can be erased ... yet impressions on a stained wall are forever smeared maybe still to be rewritten ...

A fabulous palimpsest of being, Axilea. The cycle will be ongoing as all things work upwards and outwards, never to be erased but compounded upon, the srokes and meaning of what lies beneath the "fresh" canvas having always a bearing, shedding shadows and light. xx

I hope you write until that wall has taken it all in and you can turn away relieved.

Dear Axilea, I feel sorry reading your poem as I know that only time and patience can calm what the flesh witnessed. Blessing Emile
