Withered Blight

The weather reigned dry upon cracked caked patches

Hibernation in survival modes, wither within blight sunlight.

Flexibility drained of its pores bearing starch rigid scratches,

Dry - zero humidity sweltering heat cooking eggs in floodlight.

Animals seek shadow’s shade shadow in hundred degree stone,

Or retreat to deep burrows under the desert thermo blanket.

Human sweat, heat stroke steam cooks bleached skeleton bones

Rooted De-Termination stores desert revival baptism rain banquet.

Thundering mountains sends animals scurrying to high ground

Lightning flashes echo a reigning horizon wall that rushes water down

To flashflood plane plants holding terra firma roots in groundswell

Thirst as the desolate area saturates in rejuvenated light’s brown.

Things thought to be dead spring up in desert renewal, to awake alive

In plants that quickly blossoming in nature’s thanksgiving beauty pageant.

As dormant live seems to celebrate its visible existence in prancing life

In about being

Weathered bright.
