My world is a painful one today....we lost a precious pet of 14 years to heart is breaking, we did everything we could for him...we had to set him free....but the pain of losing him is tearing me apart.........

Harley, Our Beloved Cat – Sept. 10/10
Aged 14 years
Beloved pet,
You’re free now…
Free from your pain at last
And on to a new beginning
In a place without hurting,
Where blue skies, green fields
And happy days
Will be yours til we see you again.
There’s a sad gap in our lives
Where you used to be,
But memories of you
Fill our hearts.
We didn’t want to let you go,
So we clung to hope
When there was none.
Facing reality is never easy,
But it was time to set you free
So you could soar
Into eternity and be at peace.
We’ll miss you, precious friend
And we’ll never, ever forget you.

I know this pain as well Annabel. We lost our 1 yr old border collie to liver problems. It was heartbreaking. May God bless you every day of your life.

I went through the same think on April the ninth of last year. Two months to the day of my wife's death I had to put down The Nipperdawg. The vet made a mess of it and he suffered. I damn near tore the place up, it's a wonder they didn't call the cops. I feel for you, I quite understand.
